Staff members of Grose Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.

Justin K. Huie Supervisor JHuie@GroseFH.com

Justin’s interest in funeral service was first sparked during his high school years when he held a summer job at Grose Funeral Home. He went on to graduate from ELCO High School and earned a Bachelor of Music degree at West Chester University and a Master of Science degree at Albright College.  Justin later attended mortuary school at Northampton Community College (NCC) and returned to Grose Funeral Home in the capacity of a Resident Intern. Justin received his Pennsylvania Funeral Director’s License in 2006 and in January 2008, was honored with the invitation to return to NCC and serve as a full time instructor in the Funeral Service Education Department. In January 2011, Justin returned to Grose Funeral Home as a funeral director, was named supervisor in February 2014, and on June 30, 2014, purchased the business from longtime funeral director, Kathy M. Grose. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and National Funeral Directors Association, the International Cemetery, Cremation, and Funeral Association, and sits on the Advisory Committee for the Funeral Service Education Department at Northampton Community College. A lifelong musician, Justin is often heard singing for funeral services, church services, and other programs. He is a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Myerstown.  Justin is the father of three children, sons, Avery and Arden, and daughter, Myla.

Joseph P. D’Amato, III Funeral Director JDAmato@GroseFH.com

Joe was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania, where he attended Hazleton Area High School. Upon graduating in 2008, Joe matriculated to Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) where he earned credits toward his Associates in Applied Sciences degree. At LCCC, he tutored fellow students in various levels of mathematics. While attending LCCC, he also spent numerous hours helping at Habitat for Humanity. In addition to it all, Joe maintained Dean’s List status. He continued his education at Northampton Community College where he completed his degree in Mortuary Science. He was a member of Sigma Phi Sigma, a funeral service honor society. Joe earned a 4.0 GPA in all of his funeral related courses. Joe completed his internship in June of 2012 and received his PA Funeral Director's License in July of 2012. He looks forward to providing care and comfort for families in their times of need. Joe has been a life-long member of the Roman Catholic Church, Most Precious Blood, in Hazleton. He is also a member of Mary Gate of Heaven Catholic Church in Myerstown. In his free time, Joe enjoys golfing, cooking, lifting weights, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.  Joe resides in Mount Aetna with his wife, T'rese.

Emily runs the business side of the funeral home. Her duties include human resources, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and billing. She is a graduate from Conrad Weiser High School and Eastern University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Emily joined our staff in 2014. She has over 8 years of experience in human resources. Prior to joining Grose Funeral Home, she worked at Lebanon Seaboard Corp and Reinsel Kuntz Lesher LLP. Emily is a member of Zion United Methodist Church where she serves on the Staff Parish Relations Committee and co-chairs VBS. Emily resides in Myerstown with her husband, Justin, sons, Avery and Arden, and daughter, Myla.

Amanda R. Spicer Office Assistant ASpicer@GroseFH.com

Mandi is a vital member of our team focusing on many of the administrative functions in the funeral home.  She is also a healthy living educator and performer for children.  Focusing on building a stronger community, she educates children on positive relationships, friendly surroundings and stable family homes.  Mandi has volunteered with a variety of outreach programs and organizations for hearing impaired and disabled children.  Raised in the close-knit village of Newmanstown, she graduated from Lebanon Catholic School and has always had a love for serving her neighbors.  Wanting to expand her support for her community, Mandi seeks to study funeral sciences primarily as support for children affected by loss.

Paul A. Nee Funeral Assistant

Paul A. Nee, Funeral Assistant, is a valued member of our staff. His responsibilities include assisting visitors at visitations and services, general maintenance of our facilities and vehicles, and assisting our on call funeral directors. A native of Bedford, PA, Paul graduated from Bedford High School, the Williamsport Technical Institute, and Elizabethtown College. Paul served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard / U.S. Army Reserve from 1963 through 1969 and attended U.S. Army Officer Candidate School in 1965. Paul retired from DORMA Door Controls Inc., Reamstown, following a 45 year career in manufacturing as a Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Quality and Environmental Systems Manager. An expert in International Standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, he was awarded the ISO9000 Lead Assessor Certificate by the Batalas International Quality Consultants and the LRQA Internal Supplier Auditor Certificate. He authored a textbook, “ISO 9000 in Construction” and conducted International ISO 9001 related training to the construction industry. Known for his civic mindedness, Paul was a member and past president of the Myerstown Jaycees, the Jackson Township Playground Association, the ELCO School Board for 7 years where he served as president from 1991 to 1993, and Zion United Methodist Church where he served on the Administrative Council for 40 years and serves as its current president. Paul and his wife, Georgene, reside in Myerstown and have two daughters, Melissa Nee Saylor and Jenifer Nee Andrews.

David A. Swift Funeral Attendant/Aftercare Coordinator

Dave was born in Bethlehem, PA and graduated from Freedom High School.  He has an Associate’s Degree from Northampton Community College, a Bachelor’s Degree from United Wesleyan College, as well as a Master of Divinity from Evangelical in Myerstown.  Dave has served as pastor in four churches before coming to Zion Evangelical Congregational Church in Myerstown where he serves as pastor.  Dave has an interest in further serving the community at its time of need in the bereavement process and so sought to join the staff of Grose Funeral Home part time.  In February of 2015, Dave assumed responsibility as the funeral home's Aftercare Coordinator, offering support to families in their time of grief.

Dean M. Lengel Funeral Attendant

Dean was born in Pine Grove, PA and graduated from Pine Grove High School. He then earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Shippensburg University. Dean taught business education classes for three years at Eastern York High School and twenty-seven years at Kutztown High School.  Dean was a minister at various Church of the Brethren congregations and retired after fourteen years at the Myerstown Church of the Brethren. Dean is active in the Myerstown-ELCO Rotary Club and teaches with the released time program at On Fire for fourth grade students in the ELCO School District. He is married to Victoria and has two daughters and 5 grandchildren.
